It is located in the northern part of Jordan, about 110 km away from Amman. Back to Greek and romans period Umm Qais was called Gadara , its known as a cultural center. It was the home of several classical poets and philosophers , the view from that spot which overlooking Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee or Tiberias lake can give the relaxing and the worm feelings to all whom they spend some times over there, with amazing colonnaded street the ruins are still surrounded by the ancient walls where you can see a part of the temple and basilica with two amphitheaters ,the ruins of the Nymphaeum and a bath complex still well preserved ,Today Umm Qais is at the forefront of community tourism development in Jordan and still a beautiful attraction to see.
