Citadel which is located in the middle of Amman ,known as Jebel Al Qala’a , once you enter the site you will see the pillars which are the remains of the Roman Temple of Hercules, the temple was built during the time of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius on AD 140, once you pass the archaeological museum you can see the Umayyad Palace which is dating to the Islamic Umayyad period on AD 720 , in the south, you can find the remaining part of a small Byzantine Basilica dating back to the 7th century.
Then proceed to Roman theater which is the most famous landmark in Amman and located in the middle of downtown area with 590 seat theater Which was built by the Romans in the 2nd century.
Then start your free time to walk in down town to see and explore the Souq and restaurants where you might have a lunch and trying Arabian traditional dessert (kinafeh) then continuing to king Abedallah mosque with the famous blue-domed landmark, which can take around 6950 worshippers. and inside it you can visit The Islamic Museum, then back to your location in Amman.
