Mount Nebo

It’s about 20 minutes’ drive from Madaba city, located in the south west of Amman city, where prophet Moses ascended to view the promises land, which God had said he would not enter. According to Christian tradition, Moses was buried on the mountain although his place of burial is not specified. Mount Nebo is a popular stop for pilgrims and tourists, after Pope John Paul II visited the site in year of 2000 during his pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
